Our Management Team
Lon Records is the chief executive officer for Agri-Turf Distributing. He began his career in the specialty chemical industry in the late 60s working for Chevron (Ortho). In 1972, he went to work for Target Specialty Products in Gardena, California, as a sales representative. His leadership skills emerged early on, and soon he was promoted to sales manager, branch manager and then president. He served as president from 1982 to 2012. He also served in leadership positions for the Western Plant Health Association (WPHA) and United Producers, Formulators & Distributors Association (UPFDA). In addition to reporting to Agri-Turf’s board of directors, his focus is on market development, supplier relations and the long-term growth of Agri-Turf.
Rich Records is the president and founding member of Agri-Turf Distributing, LLC. He began his sales career in the specialty ag chemicals industry in 1975 working for a distributor in California. He moved from field sales into management, running distribution centers in the northern and southern regions of the state. As president of Agri-Turf, his focus is building relationships with suppliers, and coordinating marketing efforts to expand the company’s presence in California. Records is an active member of the Pest Control Operators of California, and a former board member of Prokoz. He is a licensed pest control advisor.
Vice President, Sales
Tom Boyd is a vice president of sales for Agri-Turf Distributing, LLC. His focus at Agri-Turf Distributing is on developing the pest control and landscape market sectors. He began his career in the specialty ag chemicals industry in 1976 as a field sales representative. Eventually he moved from distribution over to the manufacturing side of the industry, taking a position as a regional manager with LiphaTech, and later, a senior sales position with Ciba-Geigy (Novartis). Boyd is a member of the Pest Control Operators of California.
Donna Browne, PCA
Vice President, Sales
Donna Browne is vice president of sales for Agri-Turf Distributing, LLC. She began her career in the specialty ag chemicals industry in 1977 as a field representative for a distributor based in Cerritos, California. In the late 80s, she was promoted to the position of sales manager and managed a team of 25 – 30 sales representatives across five western states. Her current focus is on customer relations, sales training and value-added services. She is a member of the Pest Control Operators of California. Browne is a licensed pest control advisor.
Rick Foreman is the operations manager for Agri-Turf Distributing’s Fresno facility. He began his career in sales in 1977, selling urban farm equipment in Southern California, and later moved into the specialty ag chemicals industry. In 1979 he relocated to Fresno, California, to facilitate the launch of a new branch in the Central Valley. He has remained actively involved in this market ever since. In his current role with Agri-Turf Distributing, Foreman focuses on sales and operations. He is a member of the Pest Control Operators of California.
Vice President, Regional Manager
Chuck Synold is vice president and regional manager for Agri-Turf Distributing’s Central Coast and Central Valley markets. He is responsible for operations as well as developing sales in this region. Synold began his career in the specialty ag chemicals industry in 1981 as a field representative for a California-based distributor. During his career he has been very active in the pest control, vector and vegetation management markets. He has served as past president of the California Weed Science Society. Synold is a member of the Pest Control Operators of California, and a licensed Pest Control Advisor.
Harry Thompson is the purchasing manager for Agri-Turf Distributing. He is focused on procurement of products and ensuring their timely delivery. Thompson began his career in the specialty ag chemicals industry in the early 80s and has developed management skills in all facets of chemical wholesale distribution including operations, purchasing, manufacturing and logistics. His focus is on managing inventory to meet the demands of Agri-Turf’s customers.
Dan Scott, BCE
Daniel (Dan) Scott is a territory manager for Agri-Turf Distributing calling on all specialty markets in the greater Los Angeles region. Scott began his career in the pest management industry in 1991 as a service technician, working for one of the largest pest control companies in California while still in college. Scott progressed within the company, holding various levels of responsibility, eventually becoming a southern division manager. He also managed his own pest control company for 5 years. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He is a board-certified entomologist (BCE), and holds operator, field representative and applicator’s licenses in California. Scott is an active member of the the Pest Control Operators of California.
Craig Laursen, PCA
Craig Laursen joined Agri-Turf Distributing as a territory manager calling on the specialty markets in the San Diego area. Laursen has worked in the ag chem industry in California since the late 1980s. He began his career as a sales representative for Mycogen Corporation (acquired by Dow AgroSciences) in 1988. In 1995, he joined Syngenta as a Senior Technical Sales Representative, and later worked in sales for a large pest control company. He is a graduate of Oregon State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Botany-Horticulture. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State, and holds a pest control advisor’s license in California. He is an active member the Pest Control Operators of California.
Steve Plummer, CGCS
Golf Business Manager
Steven Plummer, CGCS, serves as the golf business manager for Agri-Turf Distributing, leading the company’s expansion and growth in the golf market. Prior to joining Agri-Turf, Plummer served as the general manager for Tustin Ranch Golf Club. Since 2007, he has managed Champion Golf Services Inc., providing professional staffing services for the golf industry. He is a graduate of Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, specializing in turfgrass management. He is a certified golf course superintendent. Plummer is a recognized leader in California’s golf industry having served on the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau’s Board of Directors, and as a board member for the First Tee of Orange County. In addition, he is past president of the California Golf Course Owner’s Association, and the 2015 recipient of the Golf Course Owners Association’s Ted Horton Distinguished Service Award.
